EDIT K

I'm trying to make my Electric Bike go faster.
I want to run the Battery directly to the Motor, will this work?
Can I do anything else to make it go faster?

Answer
A "500 Watt motor" doesn't give any information as the voltage that this motor was designed for.
If you increase the voltage significantly, you will surely burn out the windings in the motor - and it won't take very long either.

How hard is it to install bike motor kit?

I am considering getting a bike motor conversion kit for my mountain bike I was wondering if anyone has put one on and can tell me how hard is it How time time consuming what tools I need just any advice. I looked at electric kits but they are out of my price range.

Answer
real simple. hop on, crank the pedals and go. why have a motor spoil the fun?
