Im getting a klx 125 soon. Its either 05 or 06. I just didnt know if it was a good, fast dirt bike.
Answer
Hello,
I cannot answer about the performance of how fast or weight and handling.I can answer about the engine and mechanics of the bike.As you know it is Japanese made with pride and quality as good as any other Japanese bike like Honda Etc in my opinion because I am a certified mechanic and work mainly on all Japanese bikes. The 2006 model has only the kick start and some of these came only set up for dirt or meaning off road, make sure when you purchase you ask about the title in case it is or has been set up for the on road use.It has the mikuni carburetor with drum brakes front and back with cdi electronic ignition. The 2012 Klx 125 Kawasaki is a endure and off road bike meaning you can title the bike and drive it on the road legally or just use it off road your choice but it does come with all the federal regulated electronics like horn lights blinkers headlight and so on.It is a dual overhead cam putting out around 10.9 horsepower with fuel injection digital dc-cdi ignition meaning no carburetor or points to deal with and a 5 speed manual transmission electric start and kick start, twin caliper front brake system for exceptional braking a 1.85 gallon of fuel that will probably take you near 150 miles or more depending on how you drive it.The older model 2003 has all the same except it has a mikuni carburetor. The engines are your basic 4 stroke oil forced lubrication with a sinle piston and dual valves. These engines are bullet proof,I have worked on a few only to tune them up and install new rings and valve job.The top end is the only thing that really wears on the bike like all good Japanese bikes meaning after many miles of riding sometimes you have to install new rings and grind the valves to keep the horsepower up to where ir should be and a valve job with some new gaskets and your ready to put another several thousand miles on the bike. The parts are relatively inexpensive as well and very economical to maintain as a whole bike.It is a very nice bike to use on road and off.If you are a beginner rider then this bike would be for you because it is very easy to learn on easy to ride light in weight corners the road easily with excellent handling and braking power. You will not be disappointed if you purchase a Kawasaki klx 125,just remember to keep the oil changed at regular intervals along with the air cleaner filter fuel filter and you will have years of use with several thousand enjoyable inexpensive miles of riding.Good luck with your purchase and if you have anymore questions please ask and I'll answer them as I can. Please let us know your decision as I would like to know if you like the bike after your purchase.Take care ride safe and always wear a helmet.

Which yamaha dual sport bike is better?
Vertigo
I was looking the 2011 WR250X, the 2011 WR250R and the 2012 TW200. I prefer the TW2000 cause is cheaper and dont know it looks nice. But i will like to know the pros and cons of each one, nore concentrated in the TW200. Thanks
Answer
Rule out the wr250x as its street tires will not be good off road.
The wr250r is a dual sport, powerful for a 250 and tall, so you will want to sit on one and see if it fits. While it won't be too comfortable on a highway it is fast enough for one. It would be a good off road bike based on the power and tires.
The TW200 has been sold for years so its easy to find one used, though I think very early models had kick starting only, so check the one you are looking at has electric start. It will be about half the price of the 250, less if you are buying used. Its 200cc engine is not very powerful, so it will not be fast enough for highway driving (top speed is around 60mph). It will be ok on easy trails, but a bit underpowered on anything with steep hills. If it doesn't matter to you about the higher speed and power of the 250, or the 250 is too tall, then I think the TW200 would be a good in town and trail bike, and fine for country riding, and will get really good gas mileage.
