What are your thoughts on an electric bike vs. an electric wheel conversion?

I live about 2 miles from work, and have a bike path directly to the office. I want to get an electric bike or convert my beach cruiser to an electric bike. Thoughts on this? Suggestions?

Only two miles I would just ride my bike. Get a hybrid bike and enjoy the ride.

Basically what's in the question just wondering if there are any electric bike conversion kits that will partially recharge while you pedal. Kind of like a hybrid; and if you guys have any could you point me to them?

that would be about .001% efficient

if you are going to pedal, why not let THAT run the bike
instead of pushing a generator, letting that charge a battery, letting the battery run a motor
all of which have losses

just charge from the wall for about 1 cent a day

there is no need to 'charge' from pedaling
