electric bike conversion kits?

snarf

hi gurus,
Does anyone have any recommendations on a reputable company that sells electric bike conversion kits? I've seen various companies on the web (amped bikes, go-hub, clean republic) but have no idea who is good vs. bad. Any guidance is much appreciated.

Answer
Guidance? Get on a real bicycle. The human body should be the motor.

know any Electric Bicycle kits from ebay can go at least 20mph?

Maverick

sellers are giving me strange details like 200rpm or 50kpm and I'm pretty sure the rpm was counted with out weight. Also what do you think would be the best battery?

Answer
Your speed on level ground with no pedaling will vary. If you have more than 750 watts power or go over 20mph then the bike is not an electric assist bicycle, but rather legally considered a motorcycle.

The best battery is Lithium Iron Phosphate, but those will cost as much as the whole bike. The standard ebike comes with a sealed lead acid battery.

Is about $500 shipped to a store you choose for pickup. That is usually less exensive than doing a conversion yourself. The price for this bike has gone up a lot. I paid $375 for it 2 years ago.
