i live in glasgow, scotland and i was wondering if anyone knew of any ideas i could use for my boys baby quad bike. The wheels are plastic and when he puts his foot on the pedal the wheels just spin on the laminate floor so he cant use his wee quad. He is only 15 months and its snowin so cant let him outside. Anyone got any ideas if there is sumin i can put on the wheels to make them grip? And where i can get it? Even if i order online..any ideas please x

You can look on craigslist for a pock rocket, pocket bike, mini bike, pit bike, they are gas powered but you are big enough to collected cans and scrap metal. But if i were you, id save a few more bucks and get a quad! It will be the most fun you have ever had in your whole life. Become a member on quadracerhq someday and learn how to even make it faster and nicer than you'd ever imagine.

best starter/intermediate moto bike?

Hi, I'm 6'5" and 210 lbs and am looking for a reasonably priced bike to use for some moto (nothing too crazy).

I don't have any experince with dirtbikes, but have ridden mountain trails on mountain bikes & quads for long time and tend to catch on quick. What's a good bike that will have decent power, actually fit me (6'5"), and yet not kill me?

Here are some bikes that I would go with:

- KTM 530 EXC: Has kick and electric starter, 510 cc, liquid cooled, 6 gears, wont kill ya', big bike for a big guy :)

- Honda CRF 450X: Has electric start and kick start has 13.7 in. ground clearance, 450cc, 3.5 ft tall at seat. Another great bike.

- Yamaha WR 450F: Has electric and kick start, 450cc, both front and rear suspension has 12 in. of travel. Yet again, another great bike.

- Kawasaki KLX 450R: Has electric and kick start, 450cc, liquid cooled, 5 speed, 37 in. seat height, 12.6 in. ground clearance, 12 in. travel on both front and back suspension. 2.1 gallon fuel tank.

- Suzuki RM-Z450: Has electric and kick start, 400cc, front head light, seat is 3 ft. tall, has a 2.6 gallon tank. Not as big, but still a very nice bike.

All of these bike's will fit your height and weight, and all of them are the "off-road" edition's so they are not the "high-performance" get-on-it and-kill-yourself bikes.

could be a few things, i guess it depends on the start method on ur quad. I have an old kick start quad that had that problem and was a bad kick lever, if its electric id say a new battery.

The electric starter is staying engaged. This may because the solenoid is stuck or because the small wire going to the solenoid has power to it all the time. You can check this with a test light and if it does have power all the time, check the start button switch. If this switch works properly, check the wiring from it to the starter for a short circuit.

Help full to know make and model, year of quad. For instance - does the maker of your pull start model also make a electric start model? do the engines interchange? then yes it is easy - perhaps expensive- swap of engines. Some atvs 50cc are considered mostly toys and use a basic scooter engine and CVT drive, some just have a centrifugal clutch and chain drive with a stub shaft available to put on a Delco starter/generator unit as used on early garden tractors. What do you have? Chinese made toy with strange made engine or if lucky Honda clone engine? Yamaha with PW50 drive train? You can make any pull start ATV into a electric start model- got $$, welder handy? As I noted- a maker of basic and electric start models might be real easy- and if electric start parts or engine are in a salvage yard might be cheap. Otherwise- get back to us with more info or save money for a name brand ATV with electric start like Honda or Polaris..

If you are looking for a mini dirt bike I would suggest something from the Razor brand. They are electric powered so they're not as noisy. They fully charge in 8hrs, leave it overnight and you're good to go. They are very highly rated on average of 4.2 stars out of 5. If you're looking for a smaller version I would consider the MX350 if something bigger try the MX650.

i have actually thought of doing this to my quad. here is the requirements.
it must be able to go at least 65 as a top speed and the tires must be street tires and you must pass a smog test. break lights head lights turn signals are a plus. you can get a ATV street legal in Oregon. i have friend down there that have dirt bikes and quads street legal and they even got small trailer to haul there off roading tires in to swap them out when they get to the off roading park

Stuarts answer is very confusing for me to understand. I will try to give a simple answer.

I'm not sure which Honda you have but if the bike has electric start there will be a button on the right handlebar you can press with your thumb. If you have the bike in neutral and then hold the clutch in, press that button and the bike should start.

If it is kick start, then you will see another pedal on the right side of the bike that you can pull out in order to push it down with your foot.

I'm 14, about 1.68m and 65kgs. I want to get a dirt bike to learn to ride on, and to ride around my farm. I was thinking something like a Honda CRF 230F, or something like that. I have never ridden before, but I'm a fast learner, and am pretty good at driving quad bikes. Also, if it matters at all, I'm a girl.

You could go for a 230... They are big bikes though and have a lot of bottom end power.. but not much top end... great if you want to slowly power up a steep hill.. not so good if you want a bit more speed and power at the top end.. I personally would get like a Suzuki RM 125... they are light, fast, ALOT of power.. especially at top end.. cheaper, easy and cheaper to fix... the 230 is big and heavy.. the upsides of it are electric start and you are less likely to flip it on a steep hill... but for fun (disregarding safety) id go for a light two stroke machine :)... You will probably flip the 125 up a steep hill though.. especially at first.. but yeah.. its alot cheaper and easy to fix.. lighter as well.. just be sure to get the fuel to two stroke oil mix correct and dont use a cheap oil.. it will wear out your piston rings... To be honest ive ridden plenty 230's... i got board real quick.. but if you dont mind a bit less speed and adrenaline.. go for it :) hope i helped.

They even play scooter tag in my neighborhood streets while I sit and watch. So, my question is, how can I raise enough money to buy this $400.00 scooter before school gets out in a month?
